The latest in technology is used to mimic the way the Earth’s crust creates a natural diamond, using high heat, pressure, and carbon. Instead of billions of years, it takes mere months to create a lab grown diamond!
A “simulant” is a stone that is not a diamond, made to look like a diamond to the naked eye, this includes mossanite or cubic zirconia. A lab diamond has the same chemical composition as an earth-grown diamond and all the sparkle! A laboratory diamond IS a diamond to the eye and chemically! The only difference is the origin. Unlike diamond imitations, a laboratory diamond is the the same in every way, from how it looks to the eye or microscope, to the chemical structure, to the way you can handle or treat it, it’s all identical except for its origin. Each of our laboratory diamonds come with a laser inscription visible only by microscope that matches to your certificate and indicates it is a laboratory grown stone.

1. Select your perfect stone using our selector.
2. Choose: complimentary solitaire setting or upgrade to one of our Signature designs*! You can also opt to request an estimate on another design or custom setting**.
3. Choose your gold color (14K Rose gold, white gold, or yellow gold)
and choose your ring size.
4. Choose either local pick up (Meet with the Diamond Guy!) or USPS Express Signature shipping anywhere in the USA ($45). If you’re international, please message us instead.
5. Check out on PayPal (credit card) to reserve your lab grown diamond and get your order started!
Sit back and relax! We will email you in 4-6 weeks to schedule your pick up or give you the tracking number! Welcome to the DGH family!
* please note if your design has melee (small diamonds) on the setting, these small stones will be natural earth grown diamonds.
** if you request an estimate on a custom ring without checking out through PayPal, your selected stone is not reserved and you may need to re-select when your order is placed.
All Diamond Guy Hawaii clients receive a DGH appraisal and lab diamonds are no different. We will also provide a lab grown diamond report that corresponds to a microscopic laser engraving on the girdle (edge) of your lab diamond (not visible to the naked eye). Your stone will be easily identifiable by any jeweler as a laboratory grown diamond and traceable back to your report!
Diamond Guy Hawaii will continue to carry only natural Earth grown diamonds in our inventory. Laboratory diamonds will be ordered and used only by your specific request and with full disclosure. We do not stock lab diamonds in our inventory, and all of the lab stones we order for our clients are inscribed as such.
Absolutely not! We do not carry lab grown stones in our physical inventory, so unless you specifically ask to order a laboratory-stone or order from the lab diamond selector on our website, you will be receiving a natural earth-grown diamond. All of the diamonds used on the shanks (sides of our rings) or in the halos are always natural diamonds, whether your center is lab-grown or not. If your diamond is a laboratory-grown stone, your certificate and paperwork will all indicate it is a laboratory-grown stone.
Testing
If you bought your diamond, earth grown or lab grown, from Diamond Guy Hawaii, you already know exactly what stone you have! Diamond Guy Hawaii clients enjoy the upfront and personal experience of having a lifelong jeweler you can trust!
Any ethical jeweler will only work with laboratory diamonds that are inscribed for easy identification. However, not all jewelers are as trustworthy as we are, some are not up to date with the latest information, and some just don’t have the equipment to know better.
If you did not buy your diamond from us and have suspicions, Diamond Guy brings to Hawaii the latest equipment for the separation of lab-grown and Earth grown diamonds. We will offer Laboratory grown diamond detection tests for $75 per stone.

Our test can determine if your stone is Earth-grown, or if it needs further testing. Further testing means it is most likely that the stone is lab grown, however the stone will need to be sent to a national diamond testing laboratory for final testing. Should your stone be referred for further testing, we can provide an estimate for sending your stone for you to a national testing laboratory for a definitive laboratory report.
If your stone tests as natural and you’d like a paper appraisal for the whole piece (such as for insurance purposes), we do offer paper appraisals for $150 per item.
